What Is A State Of Play Session? 


One of my favourite sayings is this: “Vision is ahead of you – Strategy is in front of you” and it’s really the basis for our popular State of Play Coaching sessions. 

Over two powerful hours, we work one-on-one to recap where you’ve come from, what’s your reality today and where you want to go next. 

Together we will create a compelling future for yourself, your business and/or team based on your ideas + start to form the plan for how you’ll make it happen. 

By taking just two hours out of your week, you will review what is your NOW and formulate a plan for what YOU want your future to look like. They could just be the most profitable two hours you spend on your business that week. 


What We Dive Into During A State Of Play Session? 


If you don’t have a vision of where you want to be, how will you know when you get there? During our State Of Play session we look at big picture questions like: 

What do I want to achieve? 

When do I play the best version of me? 

What am I doing this all for? 

How Am I going to make it happen? 

Who do I need to help me get there? 

For a lot of brokers, or owners of broking businesses; it’s been a long time since anyone has asked you these questions, or you’ve asked yourself these questions. 

With the state of the industry, the workload, the clients (and compliance) taking up all the real estate in your every day, there often is zero time for you to work through these questions and create the plans you need to succeed on your own. 

That’s what the State of Play sessions are for, and that’s what we’re here to help you with. 

The Nitty Gritty 

Once you have articulated what you want your future to look like, we turn our attention to the plan;
How is this future plan going to come together? 

More than just a fluffy chat, we’ll drill into the nuts and bolts of action and strategy. 

During our session I draw from my years of experience of building two award-winning mortgage broking businesses so rest assured, the plans you have – I’ve either failed or succeeded at what you’re trying to do and will be able to guide you through some key points in what has brought around those wins and fails. 

It’s Not For Everyone 


During our session together I will challenge you to challenge yourself; if this industry was easy, then everyone would do it. So I will challenge you to think smarter, better, bigger.

I’ll ask you whether you’re in dreaming mode or activation mode? I may throw some new ideas at you, or ask you questions you haven’t got the answers for. 

So if you’re not ready to challenge yourself, or think differently about how you get to where you want to go, maybe this session isn’t for you. 

If you want to climb a mountain, you must start by taking that first step. Then you learn how to take harder steps. One foot in front of the other – even big goals start small. 


What Happens After A State Of Play Session?


The session is powerful on its own to get the ball rolling, but the gold nuggets lie in the action you take to implement all the key points we’ve discussed. And this happens after the session. 

To help you get there I’ll provide a recap email with the key points we’ve worked through together plus any notes, ideas and recommendations I’ve mentioned during the session. 

You can use this email to refer back to and check on your progress as you set up the systems to support the vision we’ve mapped out for you during the session.
