Why Is Routine So Important To A Mortgage Broker?

Establishing a healthy routine that allows you to work towards your big goals is beneficial to most client and service provider businesses. Specifically for mortgage brokers and loan writers routine allows you to manage your time, energy and business at a much more professional and successful level.

Routine allows you to create a healthy pipeline of clients, a hefty referral business and it allows you to convert more opportunities. Ultimately creating [and sticking to] a routine allows you as a mortgage broker to have a healthier work/life balance and enjoy your business more!

The sweet spot is when your routine becomes second nature and you move from scrambling to smooth sailing.

What Does Energy Management Have To Do With Routine?

Your energy is powerful. The way you show up every day for yourself, your family, your team and your clients has a HUGE impact on your results. You know this already if you have a week where you’re feeling run down, tired and can’t be bothered to “do” life. Guess what, next week and the week after you pay for it big time.

Before you know it, you’re way off track and scrambling to catch up. The highs and lows of the roller coaster that is life become a lot harder to manage with low energy. And you can kiss goodbye to those big goals because you won’t be motivated to achieve them.

How Do You Maintain Your Energy

So how do you keep your energy high and give yourself the tools to achieve these big goals?

  • Get enough rest and sleep (you physically can’t work without it).
  • Set audacious goals with realistic milestones.
  • Reward and celebrate the small steps on your path to success.
  • Cultivate a mindset of thanks and gratitude.
  • Listen to your gut. If you need more time off, more time with family, more time socialising so you can be 100% at work the next day, then do it.
  • Watch what you’re consuming. Food, booze, Netflix, it all can affect your energy.
  • Feel the sun, the ocean, the grass. The earth can energise us more than we know.
  • Be kind to yourself. If you have a day or two that the routine flies out the window, it’s ok – we’re all only human! Get back into it and reset.
